pink bottles and little ears...

Ok no this is not about a baby. It actually starts with my husband telling me that yet again he left his soap in the gym shower so he now needs more. As i am going through the bathroom cabinet i notice an old travel bottle that's pink. So I holler down the stairs to hubby to see if he is too manly to carry his soap in a pink bottle. And much to my surprize, i hear my exact words " Are you too manly to carry a pink bottle?" coming out of my 7 yr olds mouth. I walk into his room just as he's finishing the sentence, and I laughingly ask him if he is making fun of his mother... he replys"no, i just thought it was funny" OH how they are trying to learn a sense of humor. LOL least to say everytime I think of my son making fun of me, it brings a smile to my face. However, for those of you possibly conserned, I know i won't be laughing when he does this in his teens. :)

The Fear factor of Dr. Who...

ok honestly Dr. Who 2010 isn't that scarey or gross of a show unless you let your 6 yr old watch it. and honestly it's the questions it causes the kids to ask that stops all parents hearts.

while watching DR WHO this weekend, we were watching an episode about a woman being pregnant. She keeps thinking she's in labor, at one point someone on the show says that "your the DOCTOR you help her" to dr who...

which in turn causes Jayden to ask : where do babies come from? oh the horror!!!!!

me stumbling on an explaination cause i try to answer as honestly as possible.. eventually ask jayden for clarification.. maybe it's not what i am thinking...

OH BUT IT WAS: he want's to know where they come out...

so still trying to not give him too much information to run back to school with on monday, i ask for dad's help. This is what i got.

Dad:(brian) Jayden, that's something you will find out when you're older!!!

agghhh... what a way to totally sidestep the question!!!!

well, until the next time he asks i should be prepared.

Jayden Brigded from Tiger cub to Wolf.. 5/15/10

During this interesting ceremony we attended, my son was all smiling when he came to sit by us after it was over. He said "i'm a wolf now"
I said " i'm so proud of you hunny"
jayden: "then why weren't you smiling"
me: yes i was
jay: why didn't i see you or dad smiling
me: you must have looked at us after our cheeks got tired. so we had to stop for a while.

what the heck do you say to that?

Update

We recently moved and are finally getting into a semblance of a routine in the new house/state NC. The boys are really growing up. Jon started K aug 10, and Jay second grade. we went camping with the boyscouts sat/sun. It was ok if not well planned out. They boys seemed to really enjoy themselves. And brian and i got to spend some family time. Jon often liked to play in the tent because he said there wasn't any bugs in there. and Jayden did pretty well not complaining aobut the heat. I was actually quite surprized that we did so well considering we are pretty much indoors type of people.
